Summer is halfway over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t squeeze a bit more fun out of the season! When summer started, what were you excited about doing? Maybe you were finally going to take that family vacation you’ve been talking about for years. Or maybe you swore you would find the perfect swimsuit (okay, maybe that’s not so fun, but it is a great goal!).
Need some ideas for what to do with the rest of your summer? Here’s what’s on our list!
1) attend a music festival
There are tons of music festivals happening throughout the country during the summer months. Fun for all ages, they’re really just about letting go, listening to some great music and having fun. Fashion has also become a big thing at summer festivals.
The idea is to wear comfortable clothing that will keep you cool, while still looking stylish.
The boho and global infusion trends are seen a lot. Wear a lacy bralette underneath this fashionably tie-dyed dress for a chic boho look that will keep you cute but comfy. But really, if you were ever free to wear whatever you want, it’s at a summer music festival!
2) go on a picnic
When was the last time you gathered up some friends and family and enjoyed a good meal on a pretty day?
Whether you go to a park, the beach or your own backyard, picnics are a great way to soak up the sun while letting the kids (and your fur babies) burn some energy outside.
Providing everyone with their own lunch tote lets them pack what they like to eat and is easier to carry than one large picnic basket. As for what to wear, jeans or shorts are picnic staples, but no one says you can’t wear a cute top, too! A floral cold-shoulder top is perfect for a summer picnic, but don’t forget the sunblock!
3) take a road trip (or several!)
Is there anything better than grabbing a couple of friends or family members and taking off in the car to explore the country?
The key to a fun and successful road trip is planning. Even if you’re only driving a couple of hours, you should be prepared. Packing smart starts with good luggage (it doesn’t hurt if it’s cute, too). Rolling luggage makes it easy to transfer from the car to a hotel room.
Choosing comfy, but stylish clothes in neutral colors, like a cream-colored top and tan shorts, lets you mix and match without having to pack several outfits. Comfortable shoes are a must, but you don’t have to sacrifice style in the latest fashion sneakers.
And if you don’t want to go a few days without your make-up, try a folding palette from NYX. This will save space and give you lots of creative, colorful options.
Now get out there and enjoy the rest of your summer!
