Spring has sprung, but you’re still not over fall and winter fashion. Don’t worry! There are plenty of ways to easily transition your cold weather closet into the spring spirit. I myself am a fan of the colder months’ dark hues and thick layers, but, alas, it can’t stay fall forever. Here are a few ways to try making that spring step a little more you.
spring sleek florals
Part of the appeal for fall and winter fashion lovers are the seasons’ dark, bold colors. Spring may blossom with bright floral prints, but you can still give your outfit a sleek look. Try picking florals that are printed on dark backgrounds, like black or navy blue, rather than white. The casual Justify Zippered Shirt Dress features refreshing coral flowers over a solid navy blue that flatters many figures. It’s super lightweight, plus the long-sleeves make the move from cold to warm a little less shocking. For a slightly dressier occasion, the Emerald Sundae Crop Top and Skirt Set might strike your fancy. One of my favorite winter trends is sparkle and shine, and this set feeds that desire. The crop top is composed of black sequins, which doesn’t sound exactly like spring attire, but when worn with the floral print skirt, you’ll have a budding, stylish combination!
cloudy with a chance of color
Another way to ease into the colorful season is to add pops of color to your dark staple pieces. That’s right – you can still wear your classic little black dress!
Add floral pumps, like the Expert Heels from A2 by Aerosoles with a solid dark dress, like the Wishful Park GiGi Dress, for a refreshing take on spring fashion. If you’re looking for a more casual vibe, try out a bright sandal, like the Diba True Two More Sandals, with a chic pair of black skinny jeans for a laid-back look that will fit your relaxed lifestyle.
One last cold-weather trend, that I never want to part with when the sun begins to stay out longer, is layers! You can still look snug and cozy in lightweight jackets and vests before the summer heat rolls around.
Throw this A. Byer Lace Bomber Jacket over a casual and colorful outfit for an edgy look with a feminine quality. Combining the “pop of color” trick and the layer trend, this pink G by Guess Samilah Buckle Vest will look amazing and unique with your favorite tops and dresses.
If you’re anything like me and love weather that brings a little more chill, just remember, you can make tons of things work for you with a little inspiration and creativity. What are some of your favorite ways to transition into spring?
